Continental Motors Products
Continental Motors aviation products available from factory-appointed main UK Continental Motors distributor Multiflight based at Leeds Bradford International Airport, Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK.
PowerLink™ FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control):
In 2000 Aerosance, a Teledyne Technologies Company, was awarded FAA certification for PowerLink™ FADEC, general aviation’s first production Full Authority Digital Engine Control system. This system reduces engine management tasks for a pilot to simply selecting the power setting through a single control. It allows the pilot to forget about managing the engine and focus on flying.
Continental Motors’ Pistons are made to be very wear resistant. The pistons feature an inlaid steel upper ring land as well as a unique moly surface treatment that resists scuffing during initial operation. TopCare™ cylinders feature new oil-control ring specifications that improve cylinder wall lubrication.
Continental Motors’ cylinder barrels begin as high-grade, through-hardened 4140 steel. The application of an even harder layer of nitride gives the cylinder barrels first class resistance to wear. TopCare™ barrels also receive a coating of manganese phosphate as a corrosion-resistance measure.
The Teledyne Continental Motor’s valve seats are machined with extreme precision in the cylinder head using new computer-controlled equipment. This helps to align the valve for a proper fit and gives extended durability.
Continental Motors’ TopCare™ cylinders benefit from continuous changes to the castings that put additional material into critical areas.
You won’t find a higher quality case than Continental Motors’ crankcases.
Continuous Flow Fuel Injection System:
The Continental Motors’ Continuous Flow Fuel Injection System is one of the simplest and most reliable available.
These are machined by computers and then polished and balanced by human hand to exacting tolerances.
These are standard on most Continental Motors’ engines as properly controlled oil temperatures have an important role in an air-cooled engine.
Continental Motors’ Bendix line of Magnetos have earned a well-deserved reputation for high performance and quality. There are systems for four, six or eight cylinder engines, as well as special pressurised models for high flying turbocharged aircraft.
The new Continental Motors’ TCM Starter is specially designed for tough environments and improves dispatch reliability.
Opening up a new world of high-altitude flight, the Continental Motors’ turbochargers provide optimum performance for turbocharged Continental engines.
Continental’s camshafts have an anti-scuff coating that eases break-in. The Continental engine designs put the cam below the crank which gives improved lubrication of the camshaft.
