PowerLink™ FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control):
In 2000 Aerosance, a Continental Aerospace Technologies Company, was awarded FAA certification for PowerLink™ FADEC, general aviation’s first production Full Authority Digital Engine Control system. This system reduces engine management tasks for a pilot to simply selecting the power setting through a single control. It allows the pilot to forget about managing the engine and focus on flying.
Continental’s Pistons are made to be very wear resistant. The pistons feature an inlaid steel upper ring land as well as a unique moly surface treatment that resists scuffing during initial operation. TopCare™ cylinders feature new oil-control ring specifications that improve cylinder wall lubrication.
Continental’s cylinder barrels begin as high-grade, through-hardened 4140 steel. The application of an even harder layer of nitride gives the cylinder barrels first class resistance to wear. TopCare™ barrels also receive a coating of manganese phosphate as a corrosion-resistance measure.
Continental’s valve seats are machined with extreme precision in the cylinder head using new computer-controlled equipment. This helps to align the valve for a proper fit and gives extended durability.
Continental’s TopCare™ cylinders benefit from continuous changes to the castings that put additional material into critical areas.

Continuous Flow Fuel Injection System:
The Continental’s Continuous Flow Fuel Injection System is one of the simplest and most reliable available.
