Multiflight continues to expand its helicopter operation and now operates five Dauphin helicopters and employs 12 helicopter pilots.
"Our helicopter operation is going from strength to strength and we have firmly established our reputation for providing a comprehensive range of first class helicopter services to clients in the UK and internationally," said Steve Borrowdale, Multiflight’s Managing Director.
"We now operate five Dauphin AS365 helicopters and employ 12 helicopter pilots, many of them crewing on the air ambulance services we run for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Great North Air Ambulance Service."
Multiflight, which was founded in 1994, has continued to develop its helicopter operation over the years. It now includes helicopter purchase and sales; engineering; parts; charter; management, including air ambulance services; executive handling and flight training.
"We are extremely proud of our helicopter operation and will continue to expand it still further," said Steve.
"We work hard to meet clients’ needs and our work with the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Great North Air Ambulance Service is a good example of this."
As part of Multiflight’s contract with GNAAS it manages, crews and maintains three Dauphin helicopters for the service at two locations: Penrith and Teesside. Multiflight has supplied the charity with the AS365 helicopters.
Multiflight also manages, crews and maintains two MD902 Explorer helicopters for the YAA.
Multiflight has refit a further Dauphin helicopter as a HEMS aircraft, which is available to hire. This aircraft, Multiflight HEMS AS365, is currently being leased by YAA while the two Explorer helicopters undergo maintenance work.
The fifth Dauphin helicopter that Multiflight operates is a VIP charter Dauphin belonging to Multiflight’s helicopter charter fleet.
Steve said: "We are proud of the level of our Dauphin operation and our ability to provide a full turnkey package in the HEMS sector is a major plus for air ambulance service providers."
"The latest example of this is our refit of the Multiflight HEMS AS365 which is currently being leased by YAA to allow the maintenance of the two Explorer helicopters and which will be available for hire by other air ambulance providers. We are always able to fulfil client needs and offer comprehensive Dauphin services."
Multiflight offers a full range of aviation services for helicopters and fixed wing aircraft at its base at Leeds Bradford International Airport.

Multiflight pilots use leg power for Great North Air Ambulance Service charity effort
A group of Multiflight pilots will show their land legs when they run 60 miles in a day for a cause close to their hearts.
The seven men will complete the gruelling 12-hour run to raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).
The pilots are all employees of Multiflight, which provides GNAAS with pilots and other services.
The fun run takes place on Thursday May 31st, with the pilots splitting the distance between them. They will travel to six hospitals throughout GNAAS' region and complete their running on two treadmills.
The hospitals all work closely with GNAAS, which operates three air ambulance helicopters across the North-East, Cumbria and North Yorkshire.
They are Furness General Hospital in Barrow-In-Furness, West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven, Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle, Wansbeck Hospital in Ashington, Northumberland, Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary and James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
The pilots will also take the treadmills to GNAAS' bases at Langwathby near Penrith in Cumbria, and Durham Tees Valley Airport near Darlington. The 60-mile distance to be covered represents the distance between the two bases.
The idea came from Stewart Hadley-Clarke, who has worked at Multiflight and GNAAS for 18 months, having previously been an Army pilot.
The 36-year-old of Bristol said: "When out on jobs across the region, we are often told what a great service GNAAS provides to the public."
"The pilots that fly for GNAAS are fortunate that they are in such a position that they are able to be part of this service.
It is therefore our way of saying thank you and a way of contributing by raising money for such a fabulous organisation."
Multiflight was the company chosen to supply replacement helicopters to GNAAS and was awarded a contract to manage, crew and maintain the service’s helicopters near Penrith and Teesside.
Multiflight’s ability to provide a full turnkey package was a major plus for the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
