Joint Aviation Regulation - Flight Crew Licence - Private Pilots Licence Helicopter

The PPL(H) allows you to fly a helicopter for your own personal use, be it for business or pleasure. The PPL(H) is made up of flight and ground instruction that is designed to give the experience and competence needed to pass the flight tests and ground exams.

You will need a minimum flying experience of 45 hours of flight training for a PPL (H), of which 10 hours must be solo. Alongside the flight training there are seven ground exams to pass, which are all multiple-choice papers. You will have a combination of classroom teaching and home study in preparation for these.
