Multiflight teenage pilot to appear on Calendar TV tonight
August 11, 2010
Multiflight teenage flight training student Jonny Lee was flying solo before he could drive a car.
This evening, Wednesday August 11th, Jonny is scheduled to appear on Calendar Television about the pursuit of his dream to become a commercial airline pilot.
Jonny, now 18, of Eldwick, near Bingley, was given a flying lesson at the Multiflight Flight Training Centre at Leeds Bradford International Airport by his parents as a 16th birthday present. He went on to fly solo before he could drive a car and gained his Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL) before his 18th birthday.
Jonny did all his flight training at Multiflight, sitting seven written exams and completing the course in a Robin HR200 light aircraft to get his PPL.
His ambition is to become a long-haul commercial airline pilot and he is due to start his commercial flight training at Multiflight and Bristol Ground School early next year.
“Multiflight is a great place to learn to fly: the instructors are excellent,” he says.
Jonny, a former Woodhouse Grove pupil, left school at 16 to pursue his dream of becoming a commercial airline pilot. He got a job at La Stazione in Ilkley to pay for his flying lessons.
He has completed cross-country flights to Humberside and Durham.
